4 Corners Festival’s Acts of Generosity

4 corners logoThe Belfast Times has picked up on the 4 Corners Festival theme of Generosity and is encouraging the citizens of this good city to get out there and make Belfast a better place through ‘acts of generosity.’

The Belfast Times has reproduced the Festival’s suggestions for something you can do every day for the remainder of the festival, with today’s highlight being to sponsor a meal for Thursday evening’s refugee feast.

At last night’s event ‘Imagination towards Generosity: A Theology,’  there was a special ‘Prayer for the 4 Corners of Belfast’ (written by Rev Steve Stockman), the closing lines of which serve as a call to generosity towards all:

Lord we pray that you would be the God of every corner of this city

And we pray that we your people will give ourselves

To the bringing together of our city

May we seek the peace and prosperity of Belfast

May we pray for it because if it prospers, you too will prosper.

May we be about rebuilding the ancient ruins

and restoring the places long devastated;

May we commit to renewing the ruined cities

that have been devastated for generations.

Lord, may we see your kingdom come

And your will being done in the 4 Corners of this city as it is in heaven.

4 Corners would love to hear about other acts of generosity, so feel free to share them on twitter at @4cornersbelfast, #4cornersfestival.
