He's not a stupid man- far from it- but his two interviews as interim party leader have shown him to be completely out of his depth and to have seemingly little knowledge of the inner workings of his party or the paramilitary force with whom it has links. I cannot even guess why the PUP gave this interim leadership slot to Kyle. Maybe Smyth and Hutchinson refused it for their own reasons. But in the wake of the Moffett murder and the questions it raises about the UVF's capacity and intentions regarding their ceasefire, I think Kyle should step aside or be moved aside. If no one's up to that task, at the very least the PUP needs a media representative with more steel and savvy. And by the end of the week.
