Barbara Walshe and the Ecumenical Accompaniment Programme: Christmas in Bethlehem

imageBarbara Walshe, a former student on our Master’s in Reconciliation Studies, has served on the Quaker Peace and Social Witness’s Ecumenical Accompaniment Programme in Bethlehem. Over the Christmas holiday, some reflections on her experience were published in the Irish Examiner (scroll down to the article on the bottom half of the page).

Regular visitors to this blog may remember the report on Walshe’s public seminar, ‘Witness at Checkpoint 300.’ Her Irish Examiner article includes some descriptions of the Christmas festivities in this contested city, as well as raising poignant questions about human rights in the region.
